Environmental issues and marine science feature strongly in Trevor's work for adults. Drawing upon his background in biological education and scientific research, Trevor is committed to making complex ideas in science understandable to the general public. He is passionate about presenting a balanced view of a subject, drawing upon many disciplines and perspectives.
With his background in counselling and training, Trevor has the 'soft' skills to carry out primary research on sensitive issues. He also works well within a team and has the 'hard' skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Trevor's natural history writing spans wildlife books, encyclopaedias and features for newspapers and magazines. He researches the latest and most authoritative sources to inform his writing.
Since 1998, Trevor has travelled widely in Europe, Africa and Australia to research articles on sharks, dolphins and whales for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph (UK), Geographical magazine (UK), Real Travel (UK), Diver (UK) and the Economist (international).
Trevor’s two latest books for adults – Oceans (Facts On File) and Whale Watcher (Natural History Museum, UK; Firefly, US) – have received excellent reviews. Trevor has also written more than sixty articles for the award-winning, three-volume Interdisciplinary Encyclopedia of Marine Sciences (Grolier, US)
